“The Plan”

by

w204Using just 20 words all beginning with the letter “P,” author Allison Paul has written an extremely inventive children’s picture book.  Caldecott Honor Winner Barbara Lehman illustrated the book using very clear, simple watercolor pictures.  This combination of art and story will appeal to imaginative readers.

Plan, plane, past are three key words that lead the main character, a young girl, to fulfill her father’s dream.  Many of the illustrations have no words so young readers, by using their imagination, can add a subtext to the story.  The simple title, “The Plan,” helps sets the scene…”After all, the difference between a dream and reality is….a plan.”
