Inspired by classic children’s literature, “Illuminations” is an elaborate light display created by the students at Rockland County Day School. Visitors will walk a storybook trail along which spectators will see vignettes from “Peter Pan, “The Jungle Book,” “Mary Poppins” and many other children’s stories. Highlights include Captain Hook’s pirate ship, Mary Poppins descending from the trees and the hookah-smoking caterpillar from “Alice in Wonderland.”
“Illuminations is scheduled for December 5 and 6 between 5 and 8 p.m. Admission charge is $5.00. Dennis Predovic, who teaches set design at the school, said that if the show proves popular, it may be extended.
