…almost. Next week on April 12th, children’s author Beverly Cleary will turn 100 years old. Author of the Ramona series, Ellen Tebbits, Ralph S. Mouse, Dear Mr. Henshaw and many others, Cleary remains popular with the current generation of young readers. Now living in Oregon, Cleary wanted to be a writer from an early age (see link from photograph), but her mother encouraged her to have a ‘real’ career in case writer did not work out. She became a librarian. Happy Birthday Beverly!
