I recently attended a presentation by Randall Enos, RCLS children’s consultant and Julie Baxter, former library director and children’s librarian, of the 2016 ALA Notable Books for Children. These titles are considered “the best of the best”. One hundred and ten books were discussed, all but a few were presented with an annotation or otherwise colorful worded description by Randall or Julie, many with a sung introduction by Julie, and all the titles were given recommended ages/grades. It was a very worthwhile presentation, which they have been doing annually for 12 years, and is open to librarians. Here is the complete list of titles, for those who would like further information.

Sorry I missed it. I enjoy the annual presentation. They do a good job.
