Last month, the 2016 winners of the Boston Globe-Horn Book Awards were announced. A prestigious award presented in children’s literature for 50 years, the awards honored books in fiction and non-fiction. Winners in the fiction category include “The Lie Tree” (Hardinge), “The Hired Girl” (Schlitz), and “Goodbye Stranger” (Stead). “Most Dangerous”(Sheinkin) and “Jazz day” (Valejo) topped out the nonfiction and picture book categories.
