Best known for her novel “Tuck Everlasting,” Babbitt won the Newbery Honor Award and the E.B. White Award for achievement in children’s literature. “Tuck” tackles the idea of immortality and was made into two movies. It appeared on Broadway briefly this year in a musical adaptation.  “Tuck” is a often required reading in schools and explores a topic frequently considered in childhood.
