Institute of Museum and Library Services

President Trump’s 2018 budget calls for the elimination of the Institute of Museum and Library Services. This federal agency is the only one charged with supporting the nation’s 123,000 libraries and approximately 35,000 museums. This agency directed most of its 2016 budget of 230 million to libraries and museums through grants. Millions of Americans are served by libraries and museums each day, and it is vital that this federal agency continue to exist and receive federal funds. Please voice your support by notifying your members of Congress. The American Library Association homepage provides a sample letter; all you have to do is fill in your information.
