The Morgan Library and Museum has an Emily Dickinson exhibit through May 28th that is well worth visiting. The enigmatic poet who is forever associated with Amherst, Massachusetts is also the subject of a new movie starring Cynthia Nixon (“A Quiet Passion.”) The exhibit contains one of the few photos (actually a daguerreotype) of Dickinson that exists. Original poems written on scraps of paper, a painting of her along with her sister and brother, a lock of her hair, and one of the few poems that appeared in print during her lifetime are all on display. You can borrow headphones from the Morgan to listen to her poetry as you walk through the exhibit, too. The Morgan is located at 36th Street and Madison.
