This title is number 12 in a series about country doctors in rural Ireland in the 1960’s. Patrick Taylor has a knack for creating a fictional town, Ballybucklebo, and the colorful characters who live there. Doctor Fingal Flahertie O’Reilly runs his country practice in a very professional manner, and he expects his colleagues in the practice to “toe the line” as well. Patients are well cared for, and the town is very generous when families run into problems. I really enjoy this series, and for readers who like a feel good novel, this one does not disappoint.
