Current Jeopardy champ, James Holzhauer, explained to The New York Times that he used children’s books to cull his general knowledge about a wide range of subjects. Over the four years he was “in training” to be on Jeopardy, he used his local public libraries children’s section to gather materials to study. Holzhauer says children’s books are ‘tailored to make things interesting for uninterested readers.” As one of the highest earning winners ever on the popular game show, Holzhauer found that studying children’s books was more interesting than adult books. So far he has won over one million dollars.
