Martha Storm is a single, middle-aged librarian in England busy doing tasks for other people. Her disappointments in life include sacrificing her best years and her fiancee to care for her parents. When a mysterious stranger leaves her a book which contains the stories she used to write as a child, Martha wants to find out how the book came to be published. Along the way, we meet Suki, her pregnant, single friend who always confuses words in an affectionately, silly way; Owen, the local bookshop owner; Zelda, her dead (or is she?) beloved grandmother, and other characters who populate Martha’s world. A cozy read.
