Dr. Doolittle

Another movie edition of the 1923 Newbery-winning classic opens this month in theaters.  The first book in the series published in 1920 is “The Story of…” The most recent movie seems to be mostly based on book #2,  “The Voyages of Doctor Doolittle.” A not-to-be-forgotten classic, the Doolittle stories are great read-alouds for kids.  The doctor’s amazing ability to speak the languages of animals always amazed me.  Take yourself to the movie and don’t forget to read the books, too!
