The latest title by Donna Leon in the Commissario Brunetti series begins with two young women discovered on a hospital dock in Venice. One is badly hurt and unconscious, and soon lapses into a coma. When Brunetti investigates, he finds that the women were dumped off a boat with two young men in it. Brunetti finds more than he bargains for, since eventually he sees it become a case involving some very dark deeds.
