The Golden Spoon

If you like baking and mysteries, this novel is definitely for you. Six top bakers in the country are invited to appear on the television show Bake Week. The winner will be awarded a book contract, as well as the title of America’s Best Home Baker and the coveted Golden Spoon Trophy. The contestants are to bake in tents on the grounds of Grafton Manor, owned by Betsy Martin, a renowned baker and the show creator. Each day, one person will be sent home until the winner is declared. But when the body of the co-host, Archie Morris, is found dead after two bakers have been cut from the roster, everyone left at the Manor becomes a suspect. This was a enjoyable and suspenseful read, and I found it to be very well written. Highly recommended for lighter fare mystery lovers.
