Tomorrow’s Workplace is a high-tech user friendly employment resource center serving citizens and employers of Rockland County, New York and the regional tri-state area. The One-Stop Center is a collaboration of eight agencies to provide job seekers with services and assistance in one location.

Services include computers and internet access, fax, phone, copier, computer training, resource library, workshops, cover letter and resume writing help, one-on-one mock interviews, and job search and placement assistance.

They also have computer courses called Learn Key. Job seekers can meet with a counselor who will find a program track for them. They could learn to manage servers, programming languages like Java or more basic skills like Microsoft Word. While the courses are taken through the computer there is a live instructor to help along the way. Once a job seeker registers for a course at Tomorrow’s Workplace they can complete the course on any computer with internet access.

I don’t know about everyone else, but it’s been ages since someone asked me for books regarding the SATs and their subject tests.  I placed a couple of titles on hold for the young woman, but I also referred her to Learning Express Library- she was really excited (well, as excited as a teen girl could be about studying during the summer) about taking some practice tests!  I went over to the YA section to check to see what kind of advertising we have for L.E.L.- we have some bookmarks that lists the types of tests that the service offers.  Do you think more teens would use it if we had different advertising?
