Despite having limited details and most of the book’s featured people being dead, Julie Seely paints a vivid picture of her family’s experience during the Depression. Now instead of seeing an architectural anomaly, I see a man who tried his hardest to hold his family together. 3/5 stars.

This was an interesting book but it took awhile to get into and actually understand what was going on as the beginning was very confusing. Overall it was entertaining for what it was, though I didn’t realize going into it that there would be a sequel. So waiting until the 2nd book would probably be best before starting this one. 3/5 stars.

Unique historical novel about a group of outlaw women. Easy, light read. However, I feel the ending could have been developed more. 3/5 stars.

This book was great on at least two accounts. The writing was very good! The voice has a way of being very identifiable and digestible. The book also has a suspenseful atmosphere that pulls you along at an exciting clip wanting to read more and more. 4/5 stars.

The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams is a very witty novel about a human who survives the destruction of the Earth to make way for an intergalactic highway. Not realizing that aliens exist before he is saved, Arthur Dent is taken throughout the universe by his best friend (and alien) Ford Prefect and the help of a good towel. The dry humor of Adams along with the interesting descriptions of alien technology makes this book an entertaining read. 5/5 stars.
