This month the spotlight is on a series that is well-known to many young readers. “I Survived……” is a fast-paced, plot driven series. Each book deals with an exciting event in history. The stories are told from the perspective of a young person living during a dangerous time. 
Published in August, 2016, “I Survived the Eruption of Mount St. Helens, 1980, is # 14 in this series. Jessie Marlowe is an 11-year-old living very close to Mount St. Helens. When the volcano erupts she and her friends are caught on the mountain.
Readers ages 9-12 who like adventure stories set during real events will enjoy this series.
