According to the blogger Jean-Baptise Piggin, a New Zealand born historian and journalist, the oldest book in the world just might be the Hanna Papyrus 1 (P75), which is a small booklet dating back to the 3rd century, which contains most of the gospels of Luke and John. The existing pages had been digitized by the Vatican Library and are now available online. Many of the pages are in mere fragments, but there are some that are fairly intact, and can be read in Hellenistic Greek, the original language.
